''Then the Lord said to Cain, why are you angry? Why is your face

downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if
you do not do what is right, sin crouching at your door; it desires to

have you, but you must rule over it,’’ (Genesis 4: 6 – 7).

''And the Lord said, Simon, Simon behold Satan hath a desire to

have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for you,

Simon that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned

back, strengthen your brothers,'' Luke 22: 31-32. But we can see

that is only by prayer that our Lord Jesus uses to combat these evil

desires. In the case of Cain, we also understand that his behavior was

a result of SIN desire, so also in the life of your children, prays that

they may rule over it.

Prayer is making our requests known to God, surrender to the will of

God and co-operate with that Will. It is not pulling God to your will

but aligning your will with the will of God. The reason is that His

taught for us is good. He alone knows the plans for your child even

before they were conceived. We witness Jesus' request at the time

when his death was approaching, he made his request known to God

in as much as he knows how painful God's will is but he submitted to

that will.
