FROM THE CSM OF THE CORPS
Greetings fellow finance and comptrollers!
lllkkkkkk
This quarter I wanted to provide the Finance Corps Association members with
an update on some of our initiatives and ongoing efforts here at Finance and
Comptroller School.
The newest version of DA Pamphlet 600-25, Finance and Comptroller Career
Progression Plan, was recently published in July. The major changes include
updates to naming conventions to match current force structure and added
key developmental leadership requirements for Staff Sergeants as Squad
Leaders, Sergeant First Classes as Platoon Sergeants, and Master Sergeants
as First Sergeants. CSM Rodland
The Finance Corps soon to be newest doctrine FM 4-80, Finance and Comptroller Operations, is
st
scheduled to be released in the 1 Quarter of Fiscal Year 2025 and will replace FM 1-06. This
doctrine has been updated to reflect our current force structure.
The Finance and Comptroller School is hosting a Tabletop Exercise (TTX) in December at the Fort
Gregg-Adams Sustainment Battle Lab. The TTX will provide valuable lessons observed/learned and
inputs towards new Army Training Publications, FM 4-80 revisions, and possibly even necessary
force design changes. Key stake holders from all organizations and components have been invited
to participate in this event.

Next year’s Regimental Week will be held from 23 to 25 April at the 81 Reserve Center at Fort
Jackson, SC. The topics for the week will likely be focused on the outcomes of the TTX and involve
th
some working groups to brains storm any problem sets. The Finance Corps Ball will be on the 25
of April at the 1917 Conference Center (former NCO club).
The Finance NCO and Soldier of the Year is going through a transformation to be more inclusive by
adding Officer’s, Senior Civilians/Civilians, and a Spouse of the Year award. All military personnel
selected as finalist will compete in a competition consistent of the following events: Army Combat
Fitness Test, Finance and Comptroller Competency Exam, Expert Soldier Badge Tasks, Expert
Physical Fitness Assessment, Land Navigation, Obstacle Course, Basic Rifle Marksmanship, Essay
Competition, and a Knowledge Board. The Civilian and Spouse awards will be a nomination
process only.
These updates are just some of the most frequently asked about topics, there are many other irons
in the fire. If any of our members ever has any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank
you all for your commitment to excellence and unwavering support.
