FROM THE CSM OF THE CORPS

        lllkkkkkk
Greetings to all fellow Finance and Comptroller Soldiers and Civilians,
           currently serving or supporting!

This has been a busy season here at the school and the Finance Corps.

In May, after months of planning we finally held the long-awaited Finance
Corps Regimental Ball. The event quickly sold out much faster than
anticipated, which is a direct reflection of the sentiment shared by all
military and civilian teammates, past and present who attended. I very
much enjoyed meeting the many retirees who traveled far and wide to
support the event and reunite with friends. Now that we’ve dusted off the
script, I’m sure that next year’s event will be even better. My sincerest CSM Dodge
appreciation to the Finance Corps Association who supported the planning and execution of a
          great night.

Leading up to the Ball we held a symposium for select Finance and Comptroller leaders. Command
teams and staff principals from across the force and components converged for a two-day
symposium where they received briefs and were offered the opportunity to ask questions on
various initiatives ranging from doctrine to the recently enacted force design update. Additionally,
                                                                                                      th
leaders were given the opportunity to showcase local initiatives with briefs from the 106 Finance
Battalion and 82 Airborne Division G8 shop. A lot of great knowledge was shared for attendees to
                           nd
          consume.

Running concurrent to the symposium, we held our post-pandemic inaugural Finance Corps
Soldier and Non-commissioned Officer of the Year board. It was a great competition that offered
units the opportunity to showcase their enlisted talent. It was an honor to host the competition and
board comprised of Command Sergeants Majors across the Finance Corps. Next year will be even
          more competitive!

As I type this, we plan on celebrating the Finance Corps’ birthday in a different fashion than years
past. On 15 June, an AIT class will culminate their field exercise with an update brief to the
Commandant using data analytics principles followed by their Regimental Affiliation ceremony. We
will conduct the traditional cake cutting ceremony in the field with them to celebrate their rebirth as
Finance Soldiers on the day we celebrate our Corps’ birthday.

In July we will farewell Colonel Worley as the 41 Commandant and Chief of the Corps and
                                                             st
welcome Colonel Michelle Williams. Under his tenure, the Finance Corps has ushered in
unprecedented change that will cement how we develop leaders and support the Army for decades
to come. It has been the hallmark of my career to serve alongside this remarkable leader.

Finally, please keep in mind our Soldiers across the world engaged in real-world operations and
pushing financial management to the forefront of the fight. I wish for each of you a great summer
                            th
and a happy 248 birthday to our beloved Finance Corps!
