FROM THE FCA PRESIDENT
Warm greetings from the Finance Corps Association (FCA); I hope this
message finds you and your family in good health and high spirits.
First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to this
year's recipients of the Finance Corps Association (FCA) Scholarships. Let
us acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of Syndey Gibbs, D'Shawn
Thomas, Giovaun Forrest, Tyler Gibbs, and Gabriella Gonzales. Well done,
and may your future endeavors be filled with success. Thanks to donations
from association members, the FCA granted $2500 in scholarship funding to
FCA members or family members this year. CSM (R) Morrissette
Additionally, I am thrilled with the resounding success of the FCA Week - 2023. The week began on
Wednesday, May 17, 2023, with the Finance Corps Association Icebreaker and the General
Membership meeting with words of wisdom from COL Worley, followed by Genero Penn, FCA Vice
President, and concluding with the Regimental CSM. Our FCA media teammate, SFC Singh, live-
streamed the event on Facebook, allowing many to participate virtually. It was an exceptional start
to the Regimental Week.
On Thursday, May 18, 2023, we gathered for the Finance Social Jam at the American Legion. The
evening was filled with excellent food and delightful company. Thanks to Mr. Matthew Gooden for
ensuring the night was dedicated to the Finance Corps Association. It was a truly memorable event.
The Finance Corps and Regimental Ball 2023 was a remarkable affair. Our initial expectation was to
have at least 250 attendees; however, we closed registration days before the event because we
reached the maximum capacity (350 attendees) for the ballroom. I want to extend special thanks to
MAJ Leon, MAJ Matthiew, and their team from the Finance and Comptroller School for their
exceptional planning and execution of the Regimental Ball. There were numerous highlights
throughout the evening, and I would like to mention a few:
• The award ceremony was truly outstanding. Many deserving individuals received the
Towson Medallion, the Distinguished Member of the Regiment award, and, last but not least,
the BG Robert C. Goetz Award.
• The Commandant raised a special toast to our esteemed CSM (R) Daisy Brown. As he spoke
about her and showcased pictures from PVT Brown to CSM Brown, the room fell silent, and
many were deeply moved.
• The Noncommissioned Officer and Soldier of the Year recipients, SSG Camennino and SPC
Jarrett, exemplify the exceptional leadership of our Finance Corps. They will undoubtedly
represent us well.
• Lastly, I must highlight the extraordinary speech the Honorable Robert Speer delivered. We
thank him for his years of service and continued support to the Fiancne Corps and the
Finance Corps Association.
I would also like to express my deep gratitude to all the generous individuals who donated funds to
the FCA. Your contributions allowed us to maintain reasonable ticket prices and allow young
Soldiers the opportunity to attend free of charge!
I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to COL Worley for being a staunch supporter of the FCA
and for his lasting contributions to the Corps. His presence and dedication will be missed. We will
soon bid farewell to Colonel Gregory R. Worley and welcome Colonel Michelle M. Williams during
the Change of Commandant Ceremony on Friday, July 21, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will occur at the
SSI Auditorium, 10000 Hampton Parkway, Fort Jackson, South Carolina. We eagerly anticipate
working with COL Williams as the 42nd Commandant.
