Standing Committee on Finance

Chairperson’s Comment
• As a chairperson on Finance, over the past two years, none of our member centers
have ever approached me for fund raisings, except our headquarters’ news releases for
humanitarian aids for natural disasters.

• Thus, for southern Thailand’s flood devastation, our committee in my contribution
remitted a sum of USD10,000/- to respond to the call.
• And then in August B.E. 2561 (2018, I again donated USD3,000/- for Japanese flash
floods/mud slide disasters for humanitarian services as conducted by our Japanese
brothers and sisters in the Dharma.

• Present on 30 March B.E. 2560 (2017) EXCO Meeting in Bangkok, after Phra
Shakyavongvisuddhi (Anil Sakya) was appointed to be in charge of WBU, as a token to
initiate fund-raising for the project, I handed over to Mr. Phallop Thaiarry, Secretary-
General a sum of USD3,000/.
• I attended International Vesak Day in Colombo, Sri Lanka, as Chairperson of The WFB
Standing Committee on Finance and experienced the unity, harmony & solidarity among
Theravada & Mahayana Buddhists and The WFB on 12-13 May B.E. 2560 (2017).

• I also got the opportunity to participate INEB (International Network of Engaged
Buddhists) conference for two days, held at Taoyuan, Taiwan for their 10 years plan for
Buddhist developments in all comprehensive aspects on 23-24 November B.E. 2560 (2017).

• Finally in B.E. 2561 (2018), from late May onward, I started too heavily & actively
involved in co-sponsoring September ‘Buddhist Business Forum’ which is the first forum
of its kind ever held in the United States of America, with Mr. Andy Kaoh, Chairman
of our Socio-Economic Development Committee.
• With Andy's financial & Karmic affinity with our Buddhist brothers & sisters there in
metro Los Angeles areas, we finally had a satisfactory forum for Buddhist brothers &
sisters from 22 countries & 8 The WFB Office-Bearers, to help Buddhist devotees to
success in their business careers to, in return, sustain our Sangha to further spread our
Lord Buddha's sublime teachings without financial difficulties.

• On the Forum, Brother Andy introduced a Buddhist Alibaba website for our centers
and all Buddhists brothers and sisters to post their ideas, their difficulties, their financial
needs and etc. for responses, solutions, generosities that will respond from those able
ones, which trust will benefit all our sentient beings.
