Administrative Work
During the past two years since the 28 General Conference of The World Fellowship of
th
Buddhists in Seoul, Republic of Korea in B.E. 2559 (2016), the administrative work of
The WFB has been carried out under the care and supervision of its President, H.E. Phan
Wannamethee. It is encouraging to note that more organizations become part of The WFB
family and many organizations have shown serious interest in Buddhism.
Following are some of the activities carried out during the period:
Dhamma Classes
Dhamma Classes were provided every month at The WFB Headquarters, in English and
Thai. The English Dhamma Class is held on every first Sunday of the month consisting
of Dhamma talk and meditation. Meanwhile, Thai Dhamma is held on every last week of
the month consists of lecture and discussion on the Dhamma.
To assist the Secretariat on the administration of The WFB and to exercise general
supervision, there are three Executive Council Meetings since the 28 WFB General

Conference to guide the Secretariat to perform its duty. Two EXCO Meetings (the 89 th
st
and the 91 ) were held in Bangkok and another one (the 90 ) was held in Fukushima,
th
Japan where all EXCO Members had got a chance to see how humanitarian activities
of Japan Buddhist Federation and All Japan Young Buddhist Association continuously
assisting people, who affected by radioactive, to restore their way of living.
Assistance to Foreign Bhikkhus
Since the last 28 WFB General Conference, the Foundation in Support of Foreign Buddhist

Monks of The WFB had provided educational funds to foreign Bhikkhus in Thailand from
October B.E. 2559 (2016) to October this year. There were 118 of monks and novices
(39 is studying and 79 was graduated) had received educational support at total amount of
THB 534,000/- or about USD18,414.
Furthermore, several agendas were discussed and can be concluded as follows:
Humanitarian Assistance
With frequency of natural disasters happened more often than we anticipated, the fund
was accumulated during the past 2 years from October B.E. 2559-2561 (2016-2018) by
Regional Centres namely the Most Ven. Master Chin Kung, President of Pure Land Learning
College Association Inc. ~ Australia had contributed to The WFB Humanitarian Fund
including to activities of The WFB, Japan Buddhist Federation ~ Japan, Dr. Steven S.W.
Huang of Lay Buddhist Association ~ Chinese Taipei, Ven. Wei Jing of Ci-Hang Social
Welfare Foundation ~ Chinese Taipei, Won-Buddhism ~ South Korea, and Namsai Pariyatti
Sassana Vihara ~ India. Moreover, individual persons also contributed to the fund namely
Mr. Jagath Sumathipala, and Mr. Peter Lee. With the kindness of those Regional Centres
and individual persons, it will certainly made The WFB perform humanitarian activities to
alleviate suffering, save lives and maintain human dignity.
