The conference was to integrate cognitive of international peace education from
diversified religions and faiths through international dialogue. Other topics were also
discussed at the conference such as relationship of Buddhism with Christian, Muslim,
and Jewish such as role of religions and environment; and social harmony among different
faith and religions in school, etc.
International Forum on Buddhism in the New Millennium organized by Mr.
Gim Sun Tan, Chairperson on Dhammaduta Activities Standing Committee of The
WFB, and the Buddhist Union (a Regional Centre of The WFB in Singapore). It was
held from 14-15 December B.E. 2560 (2017) in Singapore. Subjects of practicing
Buddhism in the modern age, Mahayana Theravada Solidarity, challenges that Buddhism
is facing were discussed and shared perspective at the Forum by renowned speakers.
Many of The WFB Regional Centres in ASEAN countries and overseas including Phra
Shakyavongsvisuddhi (Anil Sakya), Rector of the World Buddhist University, as Keynote
Speaker also participated and shared perspectives with other speakers at the forum.
International Conference on Buddhism in Contemporary Times: Relevance
for Peace, Non-Violence and Social Harmony organized by Rashtrasant Tukadoji
Maharaj Nagpur University of India from 21-22 June B.E. 2561 (2018) of which
Phra Shakyavongsvisuddhi (Anil Sakya), Rector of the World Buddhist University
~ subordinate organ of The WFB, was invited as chief keynote speaker. His advice
on development of Buddhist studies in Indian universities was welcomed by Indian
Buddhist scholars.
The WFB’s Forum on Buddhism & Business organized by Mr. Andy Kaoh, Chairperson
of Standing Committee on Socio-Economic Development of The WFB, International
of Love-in-Action (a Regional Centre of The WFB in U.S.A.) and Universal Buddhists
Education Foundation held from 7-10 September B.E. 2561 (2018) at University of
West in Los Angeles, U.S.A. The President of The WFB assigned Ven. Godakalana Thero
Gunaratana (Ven. Chao Chu) represented the President and The WFB Headquarters
attended the forum. Representatives from The WFB Regional Centres also participated
and shared their experiences which received fruitful outcome.
