1. Buddha Puja
Phra Shakyavongsvisuddhi (Anil Sakya), WBU Rector, was invited to conduct a Buddha
Puja and guided the assembly in a Prayer for World Peace.
Rev. Masamichi Shodo Kobayashi, Chairman of the Meeting, read the message from
H.E. Phan Wannamethee, President of The WFB, who was advised by the doctor not to
travel a long journey during this period and could not attend the Meeting. The President
officially assigned Rev. Kobayashi to convene the meeting on his behalf. Then, a one-minute
of silence was observed for the passing of Ven. Yi Cheng (Hon. President), Mrs. Stella L.
Tien (who was once Vice-President & Chairperson of Standing Committee on Unity and
Solidarity), Lt. Gen. Chalom Wismol (Hon. Vice-President of The WFB), Mrs. Milina
Sumathipala (mother of Mr. Jagath Sumathipala - Vice-President), and Mrs. Keshari Laxmi
Kansakar (mother of Mr. Padma Jyoti - Vice-President).
The Chairman called the meeting to open at 08.30 hrs. at Fuji Banquet Hall, Marroad
International Hotel Narita. He then requested Mr. Phallop Thaiarry, Secretary-General
to convene the meeting.
2. Resolutions received by The WFB was read out by the Chairman and discussed
by the General Council
• Executive Council of The WFB proposed resolution of establishing special relationship with
Association of Master Chin Kung’s Friends at UNESCO-Peace and Harmony Development
(PAHD), which most members are non-Buddhist and used to work with UNESCO Head
Office in Paris, France; in order to perform activity of The WFB at the international level
and reveal a good co-operation between The WFB and inter-religious organization.
Sirindhornrajvidyalai Foundation under Royal Patronage, Thailand proposed resolution
on 3 issues.
• Invited Dato’ Khoo Leung Hun, current Hon. Vice-President, as Hon. President on
account of having contributed a great deal to activities of The WFB for a long time and is
the only living person who took part in establishing The WFB. Proposal is in accordance
with Article 5 of The WFB Constitution on Patron. Throughout the time he has assisted
and provided valuable suggestion to administration and activity of The WFB.
• Regional Centres of The WFB or the WBFY with considerable number of members,
membership years, and activities; such group of The WFB or of WFBY can apply and
become The WFB or the WFBY Regional Centres for solidification to both organizations.
• President of the WFBY, and Rector of the WBU are invited to attend EXCO Meeting as
part of The WFB Executive Council in order to perform activities in the same direction
and for solidification as a whole.
These four resolutions were accepted by acclamation.
