1. Reading of the Declaration
The Narita Declaration was read by Ven. Chao Chu as follows:

Shakyamuni Buddha said: “Sabbe Sattā Bhavantu Sukhitattā” (may all beings be well
and happy). Accordingly, we Buddhists wish for the happiness of all sentient beings. In

order to embody that wish, the participants of the 29 General Conference do hereby
