Diagnosis of body electric control fault IN
ABS system failure
Overview DI
This brake system adds the solenoid valve and sensor based on normal brake to realize anti-lock braking
(ABS) function. The functions of ABS is to make the vehicle braked and keep its steering ability, and it can EG
optimize its braking distance and increase the active safety of vehicle. When ABS fails, the normal brake can
still function. TR
Precautions
1. Different models of tires can’t be used, otherwise it may lead to the failure or fault o f ABS system.
AX
2. In case of washing, don’t flush the controller with water, otherwise it will lead to serious fault of ABS.
3. Frequently check the vehicle harness for breakage, and check ABS wheel speed sensor and regulator
FR
solenoid valve joint for loosening.
4. In case of emergency stopping for perfect ABS system, it’s not required to brake continually but
required to step down the brake pedal. In any case, the steering wheel can be used to control the driving ST
direction of vehicle.
5. Before welding the vehicle, it’s required to disconnect the connector of ABS controller. BR
6. During the maintenance of brake, first check the tooth surface of gear ring for scratches or bumping after
removing the wheel. Replace the gear ring if required, and clean the tooth surface if unnecessary. No metal BW
foreign bodies or sundries can’t exist on the sensor surface or in the tooth space.
7. In case of removing the hub during the maintenance, it’s required to push the wheel speed sensor to EL
bottom in the direction of gear ring before installing the hub. After installing the hub, the contact gap
between wheel speed sensor and gear ring end face shall be less than 0.7mm.
8. The clamping force between the sensor and elastic sleeve shall be appropriate (120 to 200N). The
elastic sleeve must be replaced in case of overlow force.
9. Inquire the version identification of software and hardware of electric control system through the
diagnosis instrument.
