Diagnose- ABS system
Basic Checks
1. When a fault can not be recognized through a DTC check, perform a troubleshooting
analysis to all circuits that are considered to have potentially led to the malfunction.
2. In many cases, the fault cause can be located quickly and effectively by performing the
basic checks for ABS shown in the following list. Therefore, it is essential to use this
test method in ABS troubleshooting.
Notice:
ABS malfunctions do not necessarily mean electronic or circuital problems. In most cases,
they are the same mechanical and brake line related problems as those occur in a regular
brake system; then, the ABS malfunction indicator light will not come on and the operator
can handle the problems according to his/her own experience. However, when the ABS
malfunction indicator light comes on, it generally indicates an electronic or electrical problem;
then, the operator must not perform any maintenance work without permission if he/she is
not a specially trained serviceman/servicewoman and instead he/she should drive the vehicle
to a Foton authorized service center as soon as possible for maintenance.
