                                                Diagnose- ABS system

          Basic Checks

          1. When a fault can not be recognized through a DTC check, perform a troubleshooting
analysis to all circuits that are considered to have potentially led to the malfunction.
          2. In many cases, the fault cause can be located quickly and effectively by performing the
basic checks for ABS shown in the following list. Therefore, it is essential to use this
                 test method in ABS troubleshooting.
          Notice:
ABS malfunctions do not necessarily mean electronic or circuital problems. In most cases,
they are the same mechanical and brake line related problems as those occur in a regular
brake system; then, the ABS malfunction indicator light will not come on and the operator
can handle the problems according to his/her own experience. However, when the ABS
          malfunction indicator light comes on, it generally indicates an electronic or electrical problem;
then, the operator must not perform any maintenance work without permission if he/she is
not a specially trained serviceman/servicewoman and instead he/she should drive the vehicle
to a Foton authorized service center as soon as possible for maintenance.

            Step Check item Measures

1 Checking battery voltage Y Go to step 2
                     • Turn off all electrical equipment. N Replace battery.
                     • Turn ignition switch OFF.
                     Battery voltage >18V?

2 Checking all brake lines Y Go to step 3
                     • For damage, leakage, cracks, clogging, N Repair or replace brake lines.
                       etc.
                     Is check result normal?
3 Checking ABS sensors for dirt Y Go to step 4
                     • If ABS sensors are installed correctly. N Reinstall, clear dirt, or replace ABS
                     • ABS sensors for dirt. sensors.
                     • ABS sensors for damage and
                       deformation.
                     Are check results normal?
4 Checking ABS solenoid valves Y Go to step 5
                     • Ignition switch: ON.
                     • Wait until ABS malfunction indicator N Go to symptoms table.
                       light goes out.
                     • Listen to sound cycle of ABS solenoid
valves: Solenoid valves will make 4
                       self-check sounds:
                              1-Right front wheel
                               2-Left rear wheel
                               3-Left front wheel
                               4-Right rear wheel
                     Are check results normal?
