                                                Diagnosis – Illumination



          Diagnostic Procedure


          1.     Checking fuse

          (a)    Ignition switch: OFF.

                                                           (b)    Check fuse F19 (15A) in body fuse
                                                                  block.

          Check if the fuse is OK？

          Yes >  Go to step 2.
          No >  Replace fuse.

          2.     Checking backup light switch

          (a)    Remove backup light switch (refer to  “Chapter 31 Transmission-Transmission,
                 Replacement”).

                                                    (b)     Check backup light switch C032.

                                                            Resistances:

                                                                          Use a multimeter to   Specified
                                                          Condition
                                                                             connect pins        value
                                                      Backup light switch       1 - 2           > 1 MΩ
                                                             OFF
                                                      Backup light switch       1 - 2            ≤ 2 Ω
                                                             ON



          Are check results normal ?

          Yes > Go to step 3.
          No > Replace backup light switch.
