Author: Enid Blyton
Illustrator: Valerie Ewnes and Brian Hoskin
Characteristics: George, mother, father, auntie, and little girl.
Setting: House and city
Favourite part: My favourite part of the story is when the little girl’s mother gave
George a golden chain with strong leather.
Plot: In this story, George had a new suit and new pair of shoes. He had bought it
for himself. Aunt Winne was coming for tea so George wore his new pair of suits
and his new pair of boots. He also wore his silver watch and chain. en he went
for a walk near the sea. He saved a girl who fell into the sea so his suit got wet.
He was scared that his mother would nd out. When his mom came home with
aunt Winnie, his mom got angry to see George’s dirty suit. When his mom found
that George had saved a little girl, she was proud of him and hugged him. He had
also lost his silver watch and chain while saving the girl. e next day the girl’s
mom came to George’s house to meet him. She was very thankful to George for
saving her daughter’s life. So she gave George a gold watch with a strong leather
chain for his bravery and for saving her little daughter.
