The Biomedical Museum of IMR houses a total of 17 adults P. vampyrus and 12
adults P. hypomelanus preserved as dry specimens.

               Descriptive analysis of P. vampyrus

               P. vampyrus were collected from December 1967 until December 1977 from five
main habitats in Peninsular Malaysia: the Puchong Road of Kuala Lumpur, Ulu
Gombak Forest Reserve Selangor, Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve Selangor,
Subang Forest Reserve Kuala Lumpur, and the Sungai Buloh Forest Reserve
Selangor (Figure 2). The field measurement ranging from 270-400 mm for HB
length, 150-210 mm for FA length, 140-240 mm for HF length, 30-45 mm for E
length, 92-105 mm for TV length, 1410-1440 mm for WS and 65-105 mm for
               TB length (Table 1).
