Four-Strand Square Sennit




                With four strands it is possible to plait, braid, or make a sennit that is not flat
                but square in section. If the same sennit is rolled between the palms of the hand
                or underfoot, you could also contend that it was round. By making the same

                sennit with four pairs of strands, it becomes rounder still and is the base from
                which the so-called “square plait rope” is constructed (see page 17).
