               PREREQUISITES:  30 hours in the program, including HURD 732, 741, and 764

               COURSE DESCRIPTION:
               The practicum is designed to provide application experience of human resource development in
               organizational and industrial or agency settings. Each student will plan and implement a project in
               the field of HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT prior to registration. The student arranges
               a working relationship with the appropriate faculty member and prepares a learning experience in
               an appropriate business, corporate or industrial, educational or governmental setting that is
               submitted to the instructor prior to registration. Attendance at the HRD practicum briefing is
               mandatory for admittance to the course.

               COURSE OBJECTIVES:

                   1.  To provide a practical experience for students in the field of HRD through an external
                       placement with an agency, business, or an industrial complex.

                   2.  To provide a mechanism for case study, review or practicum experiences, models of
                       training, intervention strategies, and evaluation processes.

                   3.  To provide an opportunity for the student to gain knowledge about organizational
                       structures, cultures and behaviors.
