Taipei City Introduction of Rainwater Tank and Porous
Pavement Design in the Park
In recent years, The Parks and Street Lights Office has been committing in reliving drainage
system’s workload in the park and green space by setting of rainwater collecting and infiltration
facilities and porous pavement. Up to the end of 2018, a total of 54 parks and green spaces have
been paved with porous pavement covering an area of 6.1 hectares. (To date, it has reached
a total of 7 football fields.) Until 2018, the capacity of rainwater storage of the newly settled
rainwater tanks in 19 parks/green spaces in Taipei City had reached 1248.43 metric tons. The
rainwater could be recycled and reused, returned to the earth through watering flowers in parks
