The shade of trees always gives people breeze. Do you know that tree shade is also much
valuable? According to relevant research, trees can decrease the temperature by up to 8 degrees
Celsius. This can lower the use of air conditioners and reduce carbon emissions by about 12-
15% per year. Trees and plants can even act as a filtration system for water and lungs by retaining
surface runoff to decrease the amount of flooding into sewers and thereby prevent the loss of
citizen’s life and property. Also, trees can eliminate air pollution and reduce the costs of air
pollution.

The United States has calculated that a tree can produce about $31,250 worth of oxygen,
provide about $62,000 worth of service to absorb pollutants, recover about $37,500 worth of
water, produce the cooling effect of ten air conditioners that run in rooms 24 hours a day, and
control soil erosion that worth about $31,250. At the same time, trees can also absorb nitrogen
from human activities and prevent pollutants from polluting streams and lakes.
