Will Smith and Martin Lawrence on ‘Sways Universe’.
NEW YORK, NY – Will Smith has been a Hollywood megastar for three decades — but he still loves to prove he remains the Fresh Prince whenever he clutches a mic.
On Friday (January 10), Smith and his co-star Mar- tin Lawrence made a guest appearance on Sirius XM Radio’s “Sways Universe” show to promote their latest film Bad Boys For Life.
Host Sway Calloway asked if Smith recalled the lyrics to his classic 1988 single “Brand New Funk” from DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh
Prince’s multi-platinum album He’s The DJ, I’m The Rapper. The 51-year-old Grammy award winner ini- tially joked in his response that he may need help reciting them.
As Sway said some of the song’s opening lyrics, Smith picked up where he left to fin- ish the first verse, drawing ap- plause from the audience. During the following commer- cial break, the “Brand New Funk” track played in the background and the Philadel- phia native began lip-syncing his lyrics.

Teen Concertgoer YG Called Out For Not Yelling 'F**k Trump' Addresses Incident
The 17-year-old concert- goer who YG booted off stage during San Antonio’s Mala Luna Music Festival for not yelling “F**k Trump” is speaking out. Austin Joyner addressed the Octo- ber 2019 incident via Twitter on Friday night (January 10) and included a letter he wrote directly to the Comp- ton-bred rapper.
In his post, he accused YG of putting a “target” on his back while praising the secu-
rity guards who helped him. He also explained why he didn’t want to participate in the chant.
“I didn’t want to present myself in that way,” he wrote in part. “At no time did I mention anything regarding politics at the festival. As Americans, we have Freedom of Speech, and while I may not agree with YG’s hatred towards President Trump, as a citizen, he’s allowed to
YG say what he wants.
