Janelle Monae Is Taking Her Talents To Disney’s ‘Lady And The Tramp’

Janelle Monae’s enviable resume keeps getting longer and longer with each blink of the eye. The self-proclaimed “Electric Lady” has wowed audiences with her ability to flow between music and TV/film with ease, as evi- denced by standout roles in Moon-light and Hidden Figures.
Now, Monae is set to
star in Disney’s live-action re- boot of the 1955 animated film, Lady and the Tramp. According to Deadline, Monae will be the voice of Peg, the spunky friend of the main character, Lady. She’ll be voice-starring alongside gal-pal Tessa Thompson, who will play Lady, and Justin Ther- oux, who stars as Tramp.
 LONDON — Tina Turner has revealed that she under- went a kidney transplant with an organ donated by her hus- band.
The 78-year-old singer says in an upcoming autobiography that she has suffered from kid- ney disease, and by 2016 her kidneys were at “20 percent and plunging rapidly.”
She says her husband, Erwin Bach, “shocked me by saying that he wanted to give me one of his kidneys.” Turner says she was “over- whelmed by the enormity of his offer.”
Turner writes that after- ward she felt “happy, over- whelmed and relieved that we’d come through this alive.”
Turner, whose hits include “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got to do With It?,” mar- ried German music executive Bach in 2013 after a long rela- tionship.

Extracts from “Tina Turner: My Love Story” were published Saturday in the Daily Mail newspaper and re- leased by its U.K. publisher Penguin Random House. The book is published in Britain and North America later this month.
In the book, Turner en- courages people to sign up to donate organs in order to save lives.

Audrey Wells, the writer of "Under the Tuscan Sun," "A Dog's Purpose" and the just-re- leased film "The Hate U Give" has died according to her reps.
Wells died Thursday after a long battle with cancer. Her husband, Brian, released a statement saying, "Over the last five and half years, Au-
drey fought valiantly against her illness and she died sur- rounded by love. Even during her fight, she never stopped liv- ing, working or traveling, and she never lost her joy, wonder and optimism."
She's survived by her hus- band and her daughter Ta- tiana.
 Singer Michelle Williams is clapping back at trolls who claim she doesn’t look like she suffers from depression.
The R&B turned gospel singer has been vocal about her own struggles with depres- sion, even checking into a mental health facility back in July, a decision she openly shared with fans.
Williams said there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to living with and recov- ering from depression.

Katt Williams Arrested In Portland For Alleged Assault
Katt Williams is back in jail after accused of misde- meanor assault. The comedian was arrested in Portland, Ore- gon, on Saturday (Oct. 6).
The details of what led up to the arrest and suspected inci- dent are unclear. According to the arrest records from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Williams was booked at 12:00 p.m. local time and is being held on $2,500 bail.
