Peyton Manning Yet To Make Decision On Retirement, Broncos Say
PEYTON MANNING
The Denver Broncos say quarterback Peyton Man- ning has yet to make a deci- sion on whether he will retire and plans to continue talks with the team about his future this coming week.
Bronco’s vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth tweeted the update Saturday night. Earlier Satur- day, a column in the Denver Post, which initially cited two unnamed sources, stated that Manning had decided to re- tire and would acknowledge the decision by the end of the week.
As recently as Thursday, Broncos executive vice presi- dent of football operations/general manager John Elway had said that Manning had yet to make a decision about retiring. The two had met for two hours at Elway’s house on Tuesday.
Elway is expected to meet with Manning again after the NFL combine, which con- cludes Monday.
Manning has a scheduled speaking engagement in Jack- sonville, Florida, on Wednes- day.
Warriors, Draymond Green Downplay ‘Profanity-Laced Tirade’
Fan’s Birthday By Giving Him Game-Worn Shoes
Superstar guard Stephen Curry’s 3-point eruption was the story on Saturday, but Draymond Green had him- self quite an evening too.
The Golden State Warriors forward missed all eight of his shots, and yet he was a huge part of the 121-118 overtime win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Look at his stat line: two points, 14 assists, six steals, four blocks, 44 min- utes.
He also had a “profanity- laced tirade” at halftime, ac- cording to ABC’s Lisa Salters:
Salters reported that Green was “yelling and screaming, ‘I am not a robot, I know I can play, you have me messed up right now. If you don’t want me to shoot, I won’t shoot the rest of the game.’“
Golden State collectively
acknowl- edged but downplayed the incident.
Stephen Curry had quite the Thursday night.
He poured in 51 points against the Magic and set the NBA record for consecutive games with a made three- pointer at 128. Despite that performance, his best move of the night came after the game when he gifted his shoes to a young Warriors fan in the stands who was cel- ebrating his birthday.
It was a simple gesture, but one that could easily be over- looked with players trying to get back to the locker room and recover from the game. While simple, it made for one memorable birthday.
“What goes
on in here,
stays in here,”
Green said,

Francisco Chronicle’s Rusty Simmons. “Clearly, I’ve never been a guy who cares about shots. I pass up open shots. We know what goes on between our team. We know what sparks this team. We know what this team does. We know what goes on in this locker room.”
“Part of what makes him special is his emotion and his passion,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “Nothing major happened. Obviously, we came out and played great in the second half, so it’s all good.”

According to the conversa- tion in the video, the young fan saved up $400 to buy tickets to the game. He got to watch a classic Curry per- formance AND take home a one-of-a-kind piece of mem- orabilia. That’s a birthday for the record books.

3-Pointers In A Season
Unbelievable! This guy is fun to watch. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry entered the record books twice on Saturday night, breaking the NBA sin- gle-season mark for 3-point- ers and tying the mark for most 3-pointers in a game in a 121-118 overtime victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Curry held the previous single-season record of 286, which he set last season, and now has the three highest single-season totals in NBA history. He has 288 3-point- ers so far this season.
“I never would have thought at this point in the season I would be closing in on 300 and all that kind of stuff,” he said. “That doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve always tried to push the envelope
Stephen Curry’s record- tying 12th 3-pointer of the night was a 32-foot shot that broke a 118-118 tie in over- time. He now has an NBA single-season record 288 3- pointers with 24 games to go.
and keep getting better, but a lot has to go right to get to this point.”
Curry made 12 of his 16 3- point attempts against the Thunder, tying the mark for most 3s in a game held by Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall.
INDIANAPOLIS — Eddie Lacy has turned to a popular workout phenomenon as part of his offseason plan to get into the kind of shape Green Bay Packers coach Mike Mc- Carthy wants for his No. 1 running back.
McCarthy confirmed Thursday at the NFL scouting combine that Lacy has con- sulted with P90X founder Tony Horton since the end of the season. McCarthy had called out Lacy last month and said that Lacy must lose weight.
“Eddie will take care of business,” McCarthy said. “I have great confidence that he will. I think we’ll see definitely a different guy in April, and more importantly in July.”
Since the end of the season, McCarthy fired running backs coach Sam Gash and hired Ben Sirmans to re-

place him. Meanwhile, Lacy began a program with Hor- ton that is expected to con- tinue well into the offseason. According to a source, Lacy has spent time in Wyoming for several weeks and he’s committed to going through the program, which will con- tinue in California and run until the offseason program starts in April.
A spokesperson for Hor- ton declined an interview re- quest saying, “right now they are really laser focused on get- ting him fit.”
Andre Miller To Join Spurs For Playoff Run After Wolves Buyout
Jason Bohn Required Stent To Repair Blocked Artery, ‘Resting Comfortably’
Point guard Andre Miller will join the San An- tonio Spurs, two days after fi- nalizing a buyout with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Miller’s agent, Andy Miller, confirmed the news to the San Antonio Express- News.
The addition of Miller provides veteran insurance at the guard position, where the Spurs are currently without top backup Manu Ginobili, who is still recovering from testicular surgery. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich pro- vided an update on Gino-
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Jason Bohn’s med- ical issue Friday turned out to be more serious than a mild heart attack, as the golfer needed a stent due to a block- age in an artery.
Bohn’s friend George McNeill said after his third round at the Honda Classic on Saturday that he had received a text from Bohn explaining that there was a blockage, and a stent was required. NBC later reported that the block- age was 99 percent and that Bohn, 42, had told the net- work, “I feel lucky to be alive.”
