Steelers Expect Two- Game Ban For Bell
LE’VEON BELL
Steelers star running back Le’Veon Bell is expected to be suspended for the first two games of next season as a re- sult of his August arrest on marijuana charges.
Bell and former Steelers teammate LeGarrette Blount were arrested Aug. 20 after police smelled marijuana coming from their vehicle, which Bell was driving.
Bell will spend 15 months on probation in a first-of- fender’s program and will have his driver’s license sus- pended for 60 days. Under the terms of the NFL’s new sub- stance abuse policy, he faces up to a two-game suspension.
Fred McGriff Back With The Braves
Cowboys’ Willingness To Pay RB
The Atlanta Braves are bringing back former first baseman Fred McGriff and ex-hitting coach Greg Walker.
John Hart, Atlanta’s president of baseball opera- tions, announced the hiring of McGriff and Walker as special assistants on Monday.
McGriff played with the Braves from 1993 to ‘97, helping the team win the 1995 World Series. The five- time All-Star finished his 19- year career with a .284
DeMarco Murray is creeping closer to free agency with the market set to open March 10.
But he doesn’t sound like a player with a foot out the Dal- las Cowboys’ door.
Murray would not say whether there have been on- going negotiations between his agent and the Cowboys.
Since the Cowboys’ season ended, he has attempted to relax and enjoy the fruits of a season in which he led the NFL in rushing with 1,845 yards and was named an All-

Hernandez’s Fiancee Granted Immunity
Tiger: ‘Won’t Return Until Game Is Improved’
Former New England Pa- triots star Aaron Hernan- dez’s fiancée has been granted immunity sought by prosecutors in his murder trial.
The decision released by a judge Tuesday means that Shayanna Jenkins could be compelled to testify or face time behind bars.
Prosecutors filed the peti- tion last month, and Superior Court Judge Susan Garsh held a closed hearing at that time, but did not immediately release a decision. All details of the petition were sealed at the time it was filed. The court said it was because the petition contains grand jury testimony.
It wasn’t clear when or if Jenkins would be called to testify.
Hernandez is charged with the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating Jenkins’ sister.

Jenkins has been seen often in court during the trial, sitting behind Hernandez to support him. The two have been heard whispering “I love you” to each other and occa- sionally joking together. Jenkins last week also shared notes with Hernan- dez’s defense team after her sister testified against Her- nandez.
She still lives in the cou- ple’s North Attleborough mansion with their 2-year-old daughter.
Tiger Woods said his golf is not acceptable for the PGA Tour and he will not re- turn until it is.
Woods shot a career- worst 82 to miss the cut in the Phoenix Open by 12 shots. He was playing poorly at Torrey Pines when he withdrew after 11 holes be- cause of tightness in his back.
Woods said Wednesday on his website that the injury is not related to the back sur- gery he had last spring. He said he is having physical therapy every day and feeling better.
“Right now, I need a lot of work on my game, and to still spend time with the people that are important to me,” he said. “My play, and scores, are not acceptable for tourna- ment golf. Like I’ve said, I enter a tournament to com- pete at the highest level, and when I think I’m ready, I’ll be back.”
Woods is not playing Pebble Beach or Riviera, and

said he would practice next week at his home and at The Medalist “getting ready for the rest of the year.”
He said he wants to play the Honda Classic that starts Feb. 26. But he won’t play if he’s not tournament-ready. If Woods skips the Honda Classic, he won’t be eligible for the WGC-Cadillac Cham- pionship at Doral the follow- ing week, which would mean three full weeks of working on his game.
Woods said he expects to be playing soon.
“I am committed to getting back to the pinnacle of my game,” he said.
