Odell Beckham Wants Nothing To Do With Preseason
ODELL BECKHAM
After a preseason injury helped derail his 2017 season, New York Giants wide re- ceiver star Odell Beckham isn’t super enthusiastic about playing in more exhibitions.
Beckham more or less confirmed that sentiment on Saturday, when he responded to a fan in agreement that he would, in a perfect world, play in exactly zero preseason games.

Bullets Found In Car
By Police
Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wide receiver DeSean Jackson found his name in the news for the wrong rea- sons back in December when drugs and ammunition were discovered in a car that was registered under his name, but it sounds like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide re- ceiver will avoid legal trou- ble.
A source reported on Thursday that police are no longer investigating the inci- dent.
The details surrounding the story remain unclear, but Jackson was reportedly contacted by police after a vehicle registered in his name was involved in a one- car accident and found aban- doned with marijuana and hollow-point bullets inside of it. Jackson is said to have cooperated with police and told them the car was being driven by a friend of his, though he declined to bring the friend back to the scene

of the accident.
A representative for
Jackson issued a statement at the time claiming Jack- son’s friend used the vehicle without permission while Jackson was out of town.
Given the latest details, it sounds like Jackson is un- likely to face any disciplinary action from the NFL. The 31- year-old is entering his sec- ond season with the Bucs, and he recently opened up about wanting to establish better chemistry with Jameis Winston.
Jonathan Martin had a gun in his possession when he was detained by police, according to a report.
A source says police be- lieve Martin had recently purchased two weapons, in- cluding one that matched with the gun seen in his In- stagram post. When he was found on Friday, he had a gun in his car.
A source also says that Martin is undergoing a psy- chiatric evaluation.
Martin made a threaten- ing post on his Instagram story last week that showed a photo of a gun with several bullets around it. The post specifically called out a few of Martin’s former NFL teammates, as well as his high school. The threatening

post, issued just over a week after a high school shooting in Parkland, Fla., was enough to make the school close down on Friday out of precaution. Martin was taken into custody, and the police were investigating the matter.

 Requested Trade
After Playoff Loss
The Kansas City Chiefs on Friday agreed to a trade with the Los Angeles Rams involving All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters.
The trade is expected to involve draft pick compensa- tion for the Chiefs, but not any players.
Though there were some quiet rumblings the past few weeks about Peters poten- tially being traded, the re- port still came as a surprise to many. And now one per- son says the trade talks may have been prompted by a re- quest from Peters.
Seth Keysor, who writes for Chiefs fan site Ar-

rowhead Pride, says he was told Peters requested a trade after the Chiefs blew a playoff game against the Tennessee Titans.
EARL THOMAS
There has been a lot of talk about the Seattle Seahawks po- tentially dismantling the de- fense that was once considered the best in football, but that may be a tad premature.
Earl Thomas is one mem- ber of the original “Legion of Boom” who is entering the final year of his contract, and some wonder if Seattle could look to trade him. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Seahawks would rather ex- tend Thomas than deal him.
“My understanding is it’s much more likely they get a new deal done with him rather than trade him,” Rapoport said. “Unless, of course, they got back a huge allotment of draft picks, in which case they’d probably consider it.
Louisville’s 2013 na- tional title may no longer exist in the record books, but Donovan Mitchell is still doing his best to keep the memory alive.
Before his Utah Jazz played Portland on Friday, Mitchell, who is a former Cardinal, showed love to his alma mater with custom cleats that listed the name of each player on that year’s roster along with the mes- sage “2013 Champs.”
The NCAA came down
hard on Louisville earlier this week, forcing them to vacate 123 victories from 2012 to 2015 (including that national title) due to the in- famous sex scandal that rocked their university.
As for Mitchell, who spent two seasons in Louisville from 2015 to 2017, this display definitely seems like part-solidarity and part-defiance, similiar to what we recently saw from another prominent Cardinals alum.
