Angela Simmons Speaks Out On The Tragic Killing Of Her Ex-Fiancé And Son's Father
Wesley Snipes Ordered To Pay IRS $9.5 Million After Court Battle
Sutton Tennyson with Angela Simmons and their son.
Wesley Snipes has been ordered to turn over millions of dollars to the IRS after his at- tempts to settle his back taxes for $850,000 in cash were un- successful.
The actor took his case to tax court, according to The Holly- wood Reporter, where he at- tempted to prove that he didn’t possess the assets to fulfill a six- figure settlement, but his evi- dence was deemed insufficient. The IRS tried to collect $23.5 million from Snipes in out- standing taxes for the years 2001 to 2006 back in August 2013 shortly after he completed a three-year sentence in federal prison for tax-related offenses.
Snipes then attempted to settle for significantly less than the amount owed by only pay- ing $850,000 in cash. His re- quest would have also allowed him to free himself of the fed-

eral tax lien against his property assets, including his home. And although the offer was rejected, Snipes even filed a petition
with the court asking that the rejection of his offer be over- turned.
U. S. Tax Court Judge Kathleen Kerrigan ruled that Snipes, and his represen- tation, did not provide suffi- cient proof of his assets and current financial situation. She then rejected his settlement offer and upheld the IRS’ deci- sion for Snipes to pay an ad- justed amount of $9.5 million.
Snipes claimed that his lack of evidence could be attrib- uted to the documented mis- conduct by his former financial adviser, who allegedly sold off assets from his portfolio with- out his knowledge or consent. But while he provided a signed affidavit where the former ad- viser admitted to misconduct, he failed to offer any records of transactions proving he no longer owned the properties.
As we reported earlier, An- gela Simmons' ex and the fa- ther of her child, Sutton Tennyson, was killed in his own home. Simmons has now spoken out about the tragedy.
She wrote on Instagram, "Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift . I’m hurting . I’m numb. Thank you for the out pouring of love everyone . I
cant believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton . I prom- ise to hold SJ down in every way I promise."
Angela Simmons said they split in January of this year on Instagram. They share a son together, Sutton Joseph.
Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Sut- ton Tennyson. Rest in peace.
50 Cent's Kanan Is Back With A 'Power' Prequel
Roy Hargrove, Grammy Award-Winning Trumpeter, Dies At 49
Roy Hargrove performs at the 2013 Thelonious Monk Inter- national Jazz Saxophone Competition at The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts on September 16, 2013 in Washing- ton, DC.
50 Cent is teasing a new spin-off from his hit show Power, and it looks like it will be centered on his popular character that we love to hate, Kanan.
The rapper took to his Insta- gram to announce that his evil character will be getting his own prequel spinoff.
“My Power spin-off is so crazy I’m doing the prequel. Wait till you see this sh*t, TGE influence (The Golden Era) Southside we outside 1988. Boom,” he wrote on Instagram. “If you guys think Kanan was crazy, wait till you meet the guys he came up under.”
It was only announced last week that Power creator, Courtney Kemp, had signed on to develop more series for Starz through her company End

of Episode, including spin-offs of the popular crime drama she developed alongside 50 Cent.
“I’m incredibly proud of the success we’ve had with Power, and I’m excited about expand- ing our banner and diversifying the types of stories we’re
telling,” said Kemp in a state- ment.
50 Cent also signed his own four-year deal to develop pre- mium content for the growing cable channel through his pro- duction company, G-Unit Film & Television
Roy Hargrove, a jazz trumpeter who received world- wide acclaim after he won two Grammy awards and is known for both staying true to the bebop tradition while also ven- turing out into hip- hop, R&B and neo-soul, died on Friday night in New York City. He was 49.
Although the trumpeter had long battled kidney disease, the cause of death was cardiac arrest, according to Har- grove’s longtime manager, Larry Clothier.
For the past 30 years, Har-
grove carved out his place in jazz. But his style could not be contained in one genre. He made crucial contributions to Voodoo, the mesmerizing and influential album by D’Angelo, which was re- leased in 2000. Hargrove also made appearances on Erykah Badu‘s Mama’s Gun and Common’s Like Water for Chocolate, and he later formed his own project, The RH Factor, hoping to fur- ther bridge the gap between modern jazz, hip-hop and R&B, according to NPR.
