  Black Panther -
Today or Friday, Black
Panther will be released
in theaters. Director
Ryan Coogler delivers the
Best Marvel Movie so far.
A visual joy with insane
action and culturally sig-
nificant as well. ‘Black
Panther’ is outselling
every previous super-
hero film in advance
ticket sales. The film is
also expected to be a
massive commercial success, projected to earn $150 million in its domestic opening, a figure that would place it as the fifth-highest opening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, behind only Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man 3 and both Avengers films. The worldwide sales have exceeded over the $200 million it cost to make.
Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle - Four teenagers discover an old video game console(Ju- manji) and are literally drawn into the game’s jungle setting, turning into the adult figures ( Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan) they choose to be. Action-packed but the storyline was weak. Hate to say it for a Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black film, wait for it on DVD. Returns to No. 1 at box office. Made - $367M U.S./ foreign- $517M (budget-$90M)- **1/2
Maze Runner: The Death Cure - The leader Thomas and friends ( Dylan O’Brien, Dexter Darden, Thomas Brodie-Sangster) embark on a mission to save their friend (Ki Hong Lee) and find a cure for a deadly disease. Started off slow, but picked up to making this a very good sci-fi thriller. Made - $50M U.S./ foreign- $180M- (budget- $62M)- ****
Den Of Thieves - An elite group of bank robbers called the Outlaws ( Pablo Schreiber, 50 Cent, O'Shea Jackson, Jr., Evan Jones) plan an seemingly impossible heist on the Federal Reserve Bank, but are investigated by an elite unit of the LA County Sheriff Dept. (Gerard Butler, Maurice Compte, Mo McRae). This well written, off -the-chain crime saga is well worth seeing for action fans. Check it out in the Dolby theater for the shoot out sounds. Director Christian Gudegast did a great job put- ting together this suspenseful thriller and the surprise ending. Must -see! Didn't feel like it was 2hrs/20mins long. Made $41M (budget N/A)- classic
Proud Mary - Mary (Tariji P. Henson) is a trained assassin for an organized crime family in Boston ( Danny Glover, Billy Brown) , when Mary’s life is completely changed when she finds an unconscious boy (Jahi Di Allo Winston) laying in the street. Mary takes him in and all her problems start. Director Baba Najafi had a chance to make Henson into an action legend, but falls way short with too much dialogue between Mary and the disrepectful teen. Still the movie was slightly above average with Henson doing her best to save the film. Made $20M (budget- $19M)- **1/2
The Commuter - A former cop/ businessman (Liam Neeson) is caught in a criminal conspiracy during his daily commute home. Neeson has to find and kill the person the mob is looking for. Must admit that Neeson has the right formula for his action films. Really enjoyed this action-packed thriller of who is the person he’s looking for out of a hundred passengers. Must-see! Made $34M - (budget-N/A)- ****
Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Director Rian Johnson starts the Last Jedi right where it left off with Rey (Daisy Ridley) struggling to get Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) to train her and return back to the Resistance. Meanwhile, The Resistance ( Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Carrie Fisher) pre- pares to do battle with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the First Order. Definitely a must see for the Star Wars fans. Enjoyed it. 2hrs/32mins long. Made - $617M / foreign- $708M-(budget-N/A)- ****
If Your Birthday Is Today: You are an excellent problem solver and a strong communicator. This year is a time of completions, endings and taking inventory. Review past triumphs and failures as you finish this nine-year cycle. Many will let go of people, jobs, places and things in order to move on to something new. You are moving away from heavy burdens to something new and lighter!
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): You are jazzed today! Both the Sun and the Moon are in your sign and the Moon is being zapped by Mars. You’ll know how to make the most of this because this isn’t your first rodeo. Initiate something new! Go for the gusto! Make that touchdown.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): You have a lot percolating on the back burner today. It might not be obvious to others, but you know that your hands are full as you quietly plan and execute your ideas. All of this is happening because your ambition is aroused.
Aries (March 21-April 19): Time spent with a female acquain- tance today will be memorable. (This person might be a friend or a member of a group.) She might encourage you to try your wings or do something to reach out to more people. Involvement with a charitable organization will be rewarding.
Taurus (April 20-May 20): You make a strong impression on others today! People are talking about you whether you know this or not — especially bosses, parents, VIPs and possibly even the police. (Gulp.) You might be sexually attracted to someone in authority today.
Gemini (May 21-June 20): You will love to travel or get away today because you need a change of scenery. Do something different! Vary your routine. At least take a different route to or from work. You need the stimulation of new sites, new places and new contacts!
Cancer (June 21-July 22): You have been focused on red-tape issues regarding inheritances, taxes, debt and insurance. You also want to clarify your values vs. the values of someone else, which is a tricky thing because each person thinks their values are best. It was ever thus.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): The Sun, Mercury and the Moon are all opposite your sign now, which means you have to cooperate with others and go more than halfway when dealing with them. This simply requires diplomacy and patience. Hey, this is peanuts!
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): It will please you to do something that makes you feel better organized. Tidy your medicine cabinet, your glove compartment, your kitchen counter or the clothes that are piled on the chair in your bedroom. Do something so that you feel you are more in control of your life.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): This is a playful, fun-loving day for Libra. Have a long lunch. Leave work early. What about playing hooky? Enjoy fun times with friends and children. Movies, the arts and sports events will be sources of fun and stimulation. You might feel competitive with someone.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Demonstrate grace under pressure when dealing with a female family member today because she might be demanding. You might want to help. She might want an explanation about something. You just want to keep a lid on everything so that it all runs smoothly. Natch!
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): You can’t help but get emotion- ally involved in discussions with others today. It’s just what’s happen- ing. You want to get down to the truth of something and not be detoured by superficial details that no one cares anything about it. “Just the facts, ma’am.”
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): You have an emotional investment in something that you own today or perhaps a financial deal. This is why you are not too quick to dismiss something or overlook it. You want things to be accounted for correctly so that you know where you stand.
