AIKENS
MR. LEROY BRIM
A Graveside Service for Mr. Leroy Brim, Sr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, 11:30 a. m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Elders Thomas and Lavaugnda Frazier, officiating.
Leroy was born on December 2, 1938 in Jackson, Mississippi, to the late Ollie Brim, Jr. and Julie Mae Spurlock. He was one of the first African American owned businesses in West Tampa that opened in 1960.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, John Brim; daughter, Diane Brim; and granddaughter, Tara Brim.
He leaves to cherish his pre- cious memories with: his wife, Gloria Brim; children, Leroy, Jr., Johnny Lee, Delbra LaShawn, Michael Troy, Tammy Isabella, Tony, Twanda, Tonya, Carl, Christopher and Diane Brim; grandchildren, Laroy P., Auriel, Alta, Johnny, Jr., Andrea, Tara and Tamisha Brim, Jawaun Jack- son, Keith Cobb and Rashawnda Cobb; sisters, Doris Brim and Mae Belle Brim; nieces, Linda Grier, Peggy Brim-Daniels, Julie Brown, Carol Brown, Cathie Knott, Felicia Brown and Emily Brown; nephews, David Brim, Jo Freeman Brown-Dean, Willie Brown, Theodore Brown and George Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Satur- day, February 17th from 10 a. m. - 11 a. m. at the funeral home. The family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery on Satur- day for the service.

MR. DUMY ‘JIMMY’ THELUS
Homegoing Services for Mr. Dumy “Jimmy” Thelus, who passed away February 8, 2018, will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10 a. m. at The Center For Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL, 33610, Apostle Dr. Mark T. Jones, Pas- tor, Bishop Luckner Stimphil, officiating. Interment will be placed at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.
Jimmy Thélus was born Feb- ruary 17, 1988 in La Gonâve, Grand-vide, Haiti to Rémy Thélus and Rosemane Constant. In 2007, he and his mother moved to the United States of America. A year later, he gradu- ated from Gary Adult High School.
He was a likable guy, respect- ful and very generous. He was a hard worker and ambitious. He became a truck driver to help support his family. With the help of his sister, his father was also able to join them in Florida.
He leaves to cherish memo- ries: his parents, Remy Thelus and Rosemane Constant; sisters, Myrline and Milouse; brothers, Leszczynski, Lorgeens, Gael, Bedsley and Kendy; uncles and aunts, Meritese, Rosenette, Jo- vain, Andre Rose, Memose, Joseline and Mahmere; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Dumy “Jimmy” Thelus will be held this Friday evening from 5-8 p. m. at Harmon Funeral Home.
The processional will assem- ble at the church on Saturday at 9:45 a. m.

MRS. RAMONA DANITA CARPENTER FREEMAN
Mrs. Ramona Danita Carpen- ter Freeman of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Funeral services will be con- ducted Saturday, February 17 at 2 p. m. at Pentecostal Church of God, 4705 26th Street, with Pastor Cherry Green, officiating. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Ramona D. Carpenter Freeman was a native of Tampa, Florida and a resident of Tampa for 48 years. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsbor- ough County.

MR. JOHNNIE R. GOODE
Mr. Johnnie R. Goode of Tampa passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Sat- urday, February 17 at 11 a. m. at First Missionary Baptist Church of Highland Pines, 4711 E. 21st Avenue, with Rev- erend Cleveland Lane, officiat- ing.
Mr. Goode was a native of Haines City, Florida, and a resident of Tampa for 60 years. He attended LaVoy Ex- ceptional Center and McDon- ald Training Center. Mr. Goode was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Highland Pines and was a for- mer employee of Dollar Car Rental and St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Sarah; broth- ers, Melvin and Huey; sister, Marian; and niece, Selena.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one brother, Gre- gory Johnson; three sisters, Mary McNeel, Hazel Jones (Elder Robert) of Winter Haven, FL, and Kerry Sapp; nieces, Taralisa Hall of Winter Haven, FL, Theresa Shields, Carla McNeel, Felicia Jackson and Craig Shawndra Mc- Cauley; adopted nieces, Ange- line Johnson (Raleigh) and Laura Bowles; nephews, An- thony Thompkins and Arthur “Tiger” Williams, Jr. and Trenton D. A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Oscar D. Nelson of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018, will be held Saturday, February 17th, 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th St., Rev. S. Evan Burrows, pastor, with Rev. Christopher Jernagen, offici- ating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Oscar D. Nelson was born March 6, 1942 to the late Oscar Nelson, Sr. and Mary Alice Wright-Nelson. Oscar was the third of eight children. He graduated from Middleton Senior High School class of 1961. His early commitment to his Christian faith was publicly professed at an early age while attending First Baptist Church of College Hill. He married May 18, 1962; from that union 2 daughters were born.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, grandparents, Waymon Nelson and Ruby Nelson Homer; step-daughter, Bridgette Dry; brother, Wayne Nelson of Hattiesburg, MS.
He worked as a U. S. Mer- chant Marine and as a general contractor. Oscar started his own business, Nelson’s Handyman Services. He was a lover of African artifacts.
He will be deeply missed by: his 6 children, Taranja Sampson (Thearon), Tianja Wilson (Tony), Senora Clark- Flowers (Tyrone), Aisha Nel- son, Okpara Nelson and Aziza Nelson (Christopher); 11 grandchildren, Zakiya Brown (Ricard), Za’Andra Johnson, Aladdin Bryant, Kavon Chess, Kamari Nelson, Kaloni Nel- son, Taylor Clarke, Miracle Crawford, Arianna Flowers, Damari Sampson and Dakota Flowers; 1 great-grandson, Kaelon Lucas (Makala); 1 great great-granddaughter, Serenity Lucas; 8 siblings, devoted sis- ter, Barbara J. Reese and de- voted brother-in-law, Willie Reese, Caroll L. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 16th from 5 to 7 p. m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p. m.
