Introduction
The objective of the Grievance Procedure is to provide a formal channel for the upward communication of
grievances and to settle them as soon as possible in the interests of sound labour relations in the company.
A grievance is defined as an individual employee's or group of employees' dissatisfactions pertaining to:
• an inter-personal problem with another employee at work; or
• his or her immediate work situation at the Company.
Guarantee
An employee can submit a grievance without fear that he will be victimised or discriminated against by
management.
Procedure to be followed
1.0. No employee or his employee representative shall leave his normal place of work or engage
in any grievance discussion without the prior permission of his manager. Such permission
shall not be unreasonably withheld.
2.0. Employee representatives may only act within their own company. In the case of a preferred
employee representative being absent, an alternate representative should be approached
by an employee for assistance.
