professional advise has taken the internet step of creating a special Dropbox (PRO) site. The fee has worked out at £79 annually and will be due every June. Being rather technical it is hard to describe on paper and I shall make a short presentation to today’s Committee. I need your support and confirmation of the action taken.
Amazing follow-up to Derby Telegraph Bygones 1 August 2016 article – Earlier in this update I explained how 16 OD’s and ex pupils contacted me with additional details of Masters’ names, some with dates and also some pupils. So much so we now have every male Master’s names; that Form 2N meant Dave Newbold was their Form Master and taught music in Room A24 in St. Helen’s House; and the large photograph was of Derby School Choir in May 1957 with Messrs. Coates, Reeson, Newbold and Kirton as the Masters on the front row.
An amazing donation was the handing over for our archives an original 1961 CCF Battledress Blouse worn by the late Philip Redfern, who lived in Locko Road, Spondon by his widow. It is complete with the DS CCF shoulder flashes and also on the right sleeve the red four star badge denoting that Philip Redfern had attained his Cert A Part II.
We plan to have this on display at the CCF Reunion, at tonight’s Meeting and with your approval at the 2016 OD Dinner.

Andrew Polkey and Second edition of “A History of Derby School Cadet Corps” This summer his second edition is being written with many new facts and history – all found due to Derby Moorway Community Sports College opening their own Derby School archives brought to the new Derby School in September 1966 by Mr Norman Elliott., Headmaster It is pleasing to record that the Foreword to this Second Edition has been written by our President Ralph Holden. Andrew’s plans are to have it available, if the printers do their job on time, at the November 2016 OD Dinner.
Speclal Report Tonight I have prepared an additional Report making suggestions as to what we, as the current Committee, believe is a way forward with relation to our huge collection of archive photographs created since I took up that new office in September 2009.
