The population of Damietta is estimated at about 1,332,376

· Administrative division

The governorate is divided into five Markazas and ten cities:

1- Damietta (Damietta - Ezbt El-Borg Ras al-Bar]

2- El-zarka (El-zarka – El-sro)

3- Faraskor (Farskour – Alroda)

4- Kafr saad (Kafr Saad – Meet Abo-Ghalb)

5- Kafr Al-Buteekh

Kafr Saad is considered the biggest in terms of area followed by

Faraskour.

The governorate includes 33 villages and New Damietta city

which is 4-5 km for fromtheport.

Agricultural activity:

The total area of farmland is about 114000 feddans, making up

1.27% of the total farmland in Egypt.
