4.1  The Rating Scale







         The   Key   Performance   Areas   (KPAs)   refer   to   the   general   areas   of   outcomes   or   outputs   for
         which   the   employee   is   responsible.   These   are   the   areas   within   the   organisation   where   an
         individual   is   logically   responsible   /   accountable   for   the   results.      The   KPAs   are   extracted   from
         the   employee's   job   description.      Based   on   extensive   feedback   from   stakeholders,   the   2020
         appraisal form now has a four-point rating scale.


         The   rating   scale   descriptions   are   included   at   the   top   of   the   Key   Performance   Areas   (KPAs)
         worksheet.      In   cases   where   an   employee   exceeded   performance   expectations,   the   line
         manager will need to provide a motivation and description of the outcomes achieved.
