The Window into my Eyes
by Megan Grogan '23
The World wants Justice No Death
But I feel they want more No weaknesses
They will never stop Only Strong
Nothing will ever satisfy them Breathtaking days
They will sin until they get it And adventure
It will take more than a life My eyes open up
Maybe it’s Pride To see the real world
Maybe it’s Wealth I see America’s beauty
I feel they’ll never Not it’s destruction
appreciate us And I remember again why I’m here
The red, white, Today I will be here
And blue Making my dreams and others’
When will their conscience shine through come true
Hopefully today I will be an actress and a leader
Maybe Tomorrow One day
Sadly, maybe never I will
All I know is me Be there
I don’t know others With you There is a person
With a voice
Sometimes I guess Once Again But small
But I don’t know the truth Asking them why
Nobody can hear it
Inside of them All they hear is
The loud voice
Shouting, Shouting
For what someone else
wants
Empty promises
Just for their sake
Then there is my world
Smiles everywhere
And all things people love
Always the sun’s shine
Never sadness
That is what makes it Mine
39 No unfairness.
