Pregnancy



             Discrimination



             Act of 1978







                 Prohibits employment
                  practices that discriminate on
                  the basis of pregnancy,
                  childbirth, or related medical
                  conditions


                 A pregnant woman cannot
                  be forced to take a leave of
                  absence as long as she is able
                  to work

                 Pregnancy must be treated
                  as a disability by employers


                 States may pass laws granting
                  additional benefits
