Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993

















                                                                         Eligible employees may take up to 12 workweeks of unpaid,

                                                                             job-protected leave with continuation of health insurance for:

                                                                                Birth and care of a child within 1 year of birth


                                                                                To care for an adopted or foster child within the first year of
                                                                                   placement

                                                                                To care for the employee’s spouse, child, or parent who

                                                                                   has a serious health condition

                                                                                A serious health condition where the employee cannot

                                                                                   perform essential function of position

                                                                                For a qualifying exigency related to a spouse, son,
                                                                                   daughter, or parent on “covered active duty”


                                                                                For military caregiver leave
