Officers’ Training
District 20-K1 Leos continued their “ROAR” of
service by attending their first in-person Leo
Officers’ Training since 2019. The outdoor
event was held on Saturday, September 25 at
Jehu Table in Brooklyn and Leos were
accompanied by their parents and Leo
Advisors. There was a guest Leo and Lion
from the island of Trinidad and Tobago. At the
registration table, they received an apron and DG Anthony (second from left) with LDC

Leroy Barnes to support VFW Post 5298 Community Garden Project which kicked off
on Saturday, October 2.
Following a light breakfast, Leos Co-
Chairperson Lion Paula Spann, Mistress of
Ceremony, started the program. The
facilitators included PCC Deborah Harrison,
PDGs Ozzie and Melissa Torres, PDG Audrey
Doorn, and Lion Julian Embrack, the Alert
Team Chairperson. All the presentations were
informative, fun, and well received by the
Leos. After each presentation, LDC Stephanie
20-K1 warmly welcomes new Leos and thanks
their respective Leo Liaisons. Simeon conducted a lively Q&A session on the
topic. The winners received prizes for their DG Anthony encourages the Leos to Team
correct answers. Lion Julian Embrack, (Alert Together for Growth because they too,
Team Chair) demonstrates safety procedures. Serve From The Heart
DG Anthony and the Leos Council presented a
check to Lion Commander Leroy Barnes to
support VFW Post 5298.

District Governor Anthony Cochran installed the
2021-2022 Leo District Council and then he
inducted new Leos. At the end of the training a
delicious lunch was served, and a wonderful
day was had by all.
