Leos & Lions “TEAMING” together at Garden Project

HARVEST TIME

AT BROOKLYN COMMUNITY
GARDEN

A Community Garden located at 409 Herkimer
Street in Brooklyn received quality attention and
tender loving care on October 2, 2021. Many
Lions and Leos “teaming together” removed
weeds and harvested the produce.

Everyone enjoyed some enlightening gardening
tips from Mr. Greg, a horticulturist from NYC
Parks Green Thumb. He demonstrated
gardening management strategies, discussed
seasonal planting and the nutritional value of
plants used for food.

Photos show the Lions and Leos proudly
displaying the harvest of collard greens,
tomatoes, okra, mint and peppers.
