Metropolis Leos, YOU ROCK!

On the chilly Saturday morning of November 13, 2021, eleven highly energized Metropolis Leos
and our Mascot, Cub Nova Lofton, braved the weather to assist their sponsoring club, the Brooklyn
Metropolis Lions with their annual Thanksgiving Hamper Giveaway. The successful event was held
at 4115 Avenue I, Brooklyn, NY.

Leo Adenike Ford, 20-K1 District Leo Secretary/Metropolis Leos’ Club Secretary, coordinated with
the other Metropolis Leos, to assist the Lions with the packaging of 100 hampers. These hampers
consisted of turkeys, roosters, and other non-perishable items. The Metropolis Leos used the
opportunity to serve within the community and within an hour, the hampers were prepared and
ready for distribution to persons in the community and various organizations. President of the
Brooklyn Metropolis Lions Club, Lion Annette Brathwaite, expressed her appreciation for having
the Leos present and complimented them for a job well done.

Dr. Mona Lisa Ferrari, Co-founder of Disaster Relief Emergency Play, President and founder of
Foundation for Emancipation of Women and Girls and Mrs. Gina Pierre-Louis, Program
Coordinator for New York Project Hope, at United Community Centers were also there to collect
their hampers. They proceeded to use their Facebook platform to interview Leo Kemani Hamilton
and Leo Adenike Ford. The Leos were delighted to share what inspires and motivates them as Leos
and to explain the meaning for the acronym (L.E.O) to the listening audience and by extension the
world.
