CONGRATULATIONS TO LION DR. PATTI HILL
INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT, 2023-2024
INAUGURAL MESSAGE (Abridged by Lion Yolande Cadore)
Dr. Patti Hill, wife, mother, grandmother, educator, psychologist and now, the Second Female
International President of the Lions. Dr. Patti Hill has been in Lionism for more than 32 years.
She has a passion for the environment and preserving it for future generation and therefore
believes that there is an urgent need to changing the environment. Hence her theme is
“Changing the World”. Dr. Patti wants Lions and Leos to make a real commitment to
Environmental Projects and to solve problems, not just treating the symptoms.
Dr. Patti also has a passion for leadership and believes in helping people reach their full
potentials. She added that changing the world is about bringing hope to those who need it, and
we change the world by working together. Changing the world begins with each one of us and it
is up to us to lead the change. She emphasized that it takes Lions and Leos to change the world
and therefore, WE NEED MORE NEW MEMBERS AND CLUBS TO FULFILL OUR MISSION OF SERVICE
AND SHOULD WORK TOGETHER AS A TEAM. She added that each one is a Lion ambassador, and
we should inspire others by showing what we do. We should open our Clubs to the community;
open our hands to the world and work together as a team to achieve more.
Installation of the Board of Directors and District Governors was conducted. Lion International
President, Dr. Patti Hill, asked the Board of Directors and all Lions to accept the important
challenge of Mission 1.5 members by the end of the year. Mission 1.5 is the drive to reach 1.5
million members worldwide by the end of the year. The challenge was accepted by the convention.
International President, Dr. Patti Hill, presented Gregg Holmes, her partner in service, with a
Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship. International President, Dr. Patti Hill concluded by saying
that it was an honor to serve as International President and may our service bless the lives of
others.
