                               HAPPY HOLIDAYS HAPPENINGS


                             Spread the joy and magic of the season




          WINTHROP WORKS


          During the pandemic, the members of Win-
          throp Lions Club, Inc. continued to fulfill their
          mission to serve the needy in the community.
          Completed projects include  a “Take Away
          Lunch” Fundraiser held on Saturday, Septem-
          ber 19, 2020.  Proceeds will fulfill the yearly
          commitment  to the Sam Canzius Scholarship
          Fund.

          In recognition of Mental Health Month, Lion
          Bernice Frazier, L.C.S.W conducted a Zoom
          seminar, entitled, “Managing Stress”. on
          October 28.  Several other clubs participated
          in this informative session.

          Over 60 back packs containing books and
          various school supplies were donated to the
          children of the Tilden Hall Family Shelter.
          Selected needy families were presented with
          $50 food vouchers to assist with purchasing
          groceries for Thanksgiving.

             A CLUB THAT WORSHIPS
                      TOGETHER,

                  STAYS TOGETHER

            With pandemic protocols in place, mem-
            bers of Laurelton Lions Club participated
            in the annual  corporate worship experi-
            ence at The Presbyterian Church of
            Springfield Gardens. Lion Al Rowe lit
            the ceremonial Advent candle and Lion
            President Lenworth James presented a
            monetary donation to the church, to sup-
            port the needy in the congregation.
