Let’s go to the park
ST. CRUZ — The National Park Arikok is open to the public
again. The park was closed to visitors since March 23 and
nature was flourishing. Plants and flowers arose, animals
recovered their space. As the world slowed, Mother Na-
ture was taking a breath!
The park invites you to discover its natural treasures main-
taining the respect for its flora and fauna. Take a hike with
a Park Ranger and visit the visitor’s center with interesting
information. The National Park Arikok comprises almost 18
% of the island. Its rugged terrain, desert-like hills filled with
tall cacti, breathtaking coastline and protected local
flora and fauna welcome you to be explored. There is nu-
merous wildlife to discover like for example the sea turtle
who lays his eggs on the park’s beaches. There are more
places on the island that are a preserved area like the
Bubali Plas in Noord which is a bird sanctuary. Recently
16 areas on the island have officially been declared pro-
tected nature areas.q
Update on flights to and
from Aruba
ORANJESTAD — Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA)
since the start of the crisis has been in close contact
with all airline partners and stakeholders who were af-
fected due to the global impact on air travel. AAA will
continue to communicate with transparency by pro-
viding general updates on the destination and air ser-
vice as AAA continues to actively evaluate re-opening
strategies. As tourism is the lifeline of Aruba’s economy,
AAA will continue to play an integral part of the Eco-
nomic Recovery process.
All eyes are turned towards the aviation industry as to
when we can all take to the skies again. As of now this
is scheduled to be between June 15 and July 1. Once
the Government of Aruba announces the official re-
opening of the borders, this of course will come with
an extensive implementation of stringent health and
safety protocols which are already well underway on
island amongst all industry partners.

Aruba’s Birds: a homage to our friends with wings
Aruba's Birds
"In an age when we experience so much of our world through glass—
screens, windows, windshields—birds are a vital connection to the wild.
They reach across any barrier, flitting, surprising, and dazzling, always
there to refresh my sense of wonder." — Thor Hanson, Author.
Aruba's magnificent natural beauty extends to its unique flora and fau-
na. 270 different bird species are registered in Aruba and the resort is
proud to partner with Nature Photographer, Michiel Oversteegen of Bird-
watchingaruba.com to bring you some of the wonderful images he has
taken over the years.
Our birds and other wildlife thrive all over the island with the help of hu-
mans like you. For a transformative experience, we recommend hikes in
Arikok Park, Birdwatching Tours with Michiel and other activities to enjoy
the island's natural beauty, but ask you to please not partake in ATV or
Jeep or Bike tours off road or designated trails which disturbs or even de-
stroys nesting grounds and the opportunity for future generations to en-
