Community Outreach
Chinatown NNORC and
Chinatown Community Center
The Chinatown Neighborhood Naturally Occurring
Retirement Community (NNORC) is a 24-block community
initiative that helps retirement-age residents in the
Chinatown successfully age in place. The NNORC provides
social services and health care case management/assistance
to NNORC members in our office and by in- home visits. The
NNORC also links members to important resources aimed at
maintaining good health and successful aging in place.
The Chinatown NNORC works closely with VNSNY’s
Chinatown Community Center Center. Since its opening
in 1999, the Center has served more than 90,000 clients
and hosted more than 2,500 health-related community
events. Many residents and members drop in regularly
at the 7 Mott Street location.
