Lone/ Isolated Working for Pole Inspection

• If you require assistance press and hold the help button until the function button blinks green.
If at any stage during the day the GPS messenger ceases to work or you cannot obtain a GPS signal, cease work and move to an area with suitable mobile coverage and inform supervisor.

Response Protocol
Actions and escalation protocol upon no contact with lone workers by COB (5pm) or previously agreed time.
• Attempt to make contact with lone worker by phone. For 30 minutes-
1. Contact made, confirm finishing time, position and wellbeing status with lone worker to ensure no duress condition exists.
a) If lone worker still working- no further action taken
2. No Contact made- Dispatch other staff member i.e. pole inspector or LL staff to last known location (pole grid) and conduct search lasting no longer than 20 minutes. N.B Where no personnel can get to the site within a reasonable response time, the supervisor is to contact and dispatch emergency services to last known location of the worker
• Escalate the incident (failure to contact) to Senior Management
