Adverse Effects of Acupuncture:

 When improperly delivered it can cause adverse effects. Accidents and
       infections are associated with infractions of sterile technique or neglect on the
       part of the practitioner.

 Four adverse events associated with moxibustion were bruising, burns and
       cellulitis, spinal epidural abscess, and large superficial basal cell carcinoma.

Contraindications of Acupuncture:

    Coagulopathy disorders (e.g. hemophilia and advanced liver disease).
    warfarin use.
    Severe psychiatric disorders (e.g. psychosis).
    Skin infections or trauma (e.g. burns).
    Acupuncture should be avoided at the spot of implanted electrical devices (such

       as pacemakers).
    Certain behavior is thought to affect the state of Qi & may counteract the effect

       of acupuncture. the following should be avoided immediately before & after the
       treatment:

           Alcohol
           Excessive fatigue &hunger
           Large meals
           Sexual activity
           Hot baths
           Extreme emotional status
           Some acupuncture points are not safe during pregnancy, may initiate
       labor.
