I cannot imagine that someone will not be offended by that but if you are it doesn’t mean there is something wrong with you. It’s me.
I Can’t Stop Thinking About You
Falling in love puts us in an obsessive state of mind, and obsession usually rehlects a process where we cannot stop thinking about something (or someone). This is another difference that is “timeline related” in love relationships. We can’t stop thinking of our love partner in the beginning of the relationship. Then as time goes by we become preoccupied by the tasks we have to do to manage the rest of our lives.
Many of us are all too familiar with that state of mind which puts the focus on one’s prospective partner — if not all the time, a substantial portion of time. Falling in love is a preoccupation. During that preoccupation, your mind searches for evidence that your love will be returned — that you will not feel foolish for exposing your feelings and being vulnerable. What we hope for is reciprocity and a state of partnership where our emotional transactions are balanced and unhampered by the worry of giving but not receiving. Those transactions do not necessarily have to be equal, but they have to be fair and satisfying.
Will I get back what I am willing to give?
