1.7.2.4 Reporting aviation and air traffic incidents
Anyone who observes an event that could affect flight safety must report the
incident either through their organization or directly to the Danish Transport
Authority (Trafikstyrelsen).
Incidents are reported to the Transport Authority according to EU Regulation
376/2014, applicable to Denmark, and BL 8-10 for Greenland and the Faroe
Islands.
Private individuals can report incidents via the ECCAIRS2 system (European
Coordination Center for Accident and Incident Reporting Systems).
In ECCAIRS2, “Denmark” should be selected as the receiving authority.
The online reporting form can be found at https://aviationreporting.eu/
Reports must be submitted within 72 hours of becoming aware of the event!
It is important for private pilots to report incidents to the Transport Authority
so that it can form a comprehensive picture of the risks present in the General
Aviation sector.
The incidents help form the basis for the safety work performed by the
authority, such as in connection with unions.
