Air Law

1.2.5 Nationality and Registration of Aircraft

Danish aircraft are assigned call signs. Fx OY-CTZ.

The first two letters "OY" indicate that the

                aircraft is Danish.

                 "CTZ" are the registration letters.

The call signs must be placed on the fuselage and/or wings of the aircraft and

must meet specific size requirements so they can be read from a given distance.

Additionally, the aircraft must have a metal plate that does not corrode or melt
in the event of a fire. The registration must be engraved into the metal.

                When registering, a registration certificate

is issued, which must be carried during

                flight.

The registration certificate is issued by the

                Danish Transport Agency.

                Simultaneously with the registration, the

aircraft is entered into the Danish national

                register.

A requirement for an aircraft to be registered in Denmark is that the aircraft

                has an airworthiness certificate (LDB).

LDB is issued by the Danish Transport Agency or approved by the agency.

The requirements set by the Minister of Transport regarding noise and other

                disturbances must also be met.
