7.9.2.7 TIME, FUEL and DISTANCE TO CLIMB

Now we can move on with the planning.

The table here shows how

long it takes to climb to a
certain altitude. We are going

to 2000 ft.

It also states how much

gasoline is used for the climb.
Under notes we have written

that we use 1.1 Gallon for taxi

and clearance (driving before we can get into the air).

Further down in the text it says that if it is warmer than standard, an addition of
o
10% should be made for every 10 C the temperature is above standard.

So we end up with the values

for TIME, FUEL and DISTANCE

TO CLIMB that you see in the
table here.

We use the values in the subsequent calculations to prepare our operational

flight plan.

Everything is now calculated. It has been calculated that the trip will take 1:31,

and with departure at 16:00 UTC we will be back home at 17:31 UTC. Since it is

during the period of daylight saving time in Denmark, we must add 2 hours, so

we fly from 18:00 to 19:31 local time.

Our fuel requirements are met, because we have over 3 hours of flight left when

we land again.
