When we are approaching Ikast it is time to call up Karup TWR.

               3.1.1.1 Establishing radio contact

When establishing contact with a station over the radio, you must:

                  - Tune in to the frequency

                  - Have thought out what you want to say

                  - Press the transmission button when not interrupting ongoing communication

                  - Speak at normal speaking speed approx. 100 words per minute, and avoid
                   filler words

                  - Release the transmission button when finished

Contact is established by mentioning the name of the station and your own full

               call sign

                     Pilot: Karup TWR OY-TLA

                     Tower: O-LA Karup TWR

Pilot: O-LA a Cessna 172 4 POB (Persons On Board) VFR Herning to Stauning

via Skive is at Ikast 1300 feet requesting to cross CTR directly to Skive

                            information BRAVO received

Tower: O-LA BRAVO correct with QNH 1010 - cross CTR VFR at 1500 feet or

below - cross directly over the runway Squawk 6334

For safety's sake, important parts of the message must be repeated, so that TWR

is sure that we have received the message.

We call such a repetition "read back". Readback must be ended with the aircraft's

               call sign.

               So we say:

Pilot: “Crossing directly over runway 1500 feet or below QNH 1010 squawk

                            3446 O-LA”

Now you are probably wondering about that "SQUAWK 3446"

                                                                                              Side 27 af 45
