Announces 2019 Division I Field Hockey All-ECAC

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2019 Division I
Field Hockey All-ECAC Team & major award winners.

The University of Connecticut came away as big winners as they claim three individual major awards.
Svea Boker claims Offensive Player of the Year, Cheyenne Sprecher won Defensive Player of the Year
and Nancy Stevens won Coach of the Year. Northeastern’ s Lauren Rowe was named Rookie of the
Year

Offensive Player of the Year - Svea Boker – University of Connecticut, Sr., F
Boker was the most potent attacker on one of the best teams in the nation. The senior scored 21 goals,
which ranked fourth in the nation, and recorded 13 assists for the Big East champions. The three-time
Big East Player of the week and Big East Offensive Player of the Year was recently named a
Longstreth/NFHCA All-American.

Defensive Player of the Year - Cheyenne Sprecher – University of Connecticut, Rs-So., GK
Like her attacking teammate, Sprecher was all over the Big East awards this season. Winning four Big
East Defensive Player of Week awards and two NFHCA Defensive Player of Week, the redshirt
sophomore was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year in her conference. She led the nation in save
percentage at .842 while posting 13 shutouts for the Huskies.

Rookie of the Year - Lauren Rowe – Northeastern University, Fr., F
Rowe stepped into the lineup and never left, playing in and starting all 19 games this year for
Northeastern. The rookie scored 16 goals and had 11 assists, both of which led the team. She ranked
sixth in the nation in points per game at 2.26. For her efforts, Rowe was named CAA Rookie of the Year,
NFCHA First Team All-Region and First Team All-CAA.
