No 19 Field Hockey Season Preview
Field Hockey Aug 28
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Last season, Rutgers field hockey made its first NCAA Tournament since 1986. With
a new season approaching, the team is eager to get back on the field and build on last year's
landmark campaign.
"I'm really excited about this group returning a strong core of really experienced players," head
coach Meredith Civico said. "We graduated two starters from last season so we're returning most of
the team. They've been working incredibly hard during the offseason preparing for this season. I think
having an NCAA appearance last season left them hungry for more and we're just looking forward to
starting. Most of them are on campus this summer with summer classes and working camps so they're
ready."
The Scarlet Knights will begin the regular season ranked 19th in the nation and will face 11 ranked
opponents. Three Scarlet Knights were honored as Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch: Austyn
Cuneo, Gianna Glatz and Katie Larmour.
