NEWCOMERS
An influx of new talent has arrived ‘On the Banks.’ A seven member freshmen class joins the team,
featuring members from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Northern Ireland. “This new group is very
versatile,” Civico explained. I expect quite a few of them to come in and make an impact right away.
We’ve had the opportunity to coach a number of them with our club, so we’ve had them here at
Rutgers on campus training for a few years already. Isabella Mancini, her sister goes here and is a
current member of the team. She’s been training and coming here since she’s been very young, so
we know her very well. Same with Allison Horton, she’s been a member of our club for some time we
know her really well. We know what to expect from her. Amanda Beck and Annie Walsh as well, have
been playing with us. Carly Snarski is an athlete who joined us late in the game but she’s a player who
works incredibly hard. She’s a very talented soccer and ice hockey player and those translate really
well into our field hockey game. Maggie Lamb is a player that I’m really excited to have here at
Rutgers, she has a great mentality and work ethic and she’s just a solid overall player. Rachel Houston
will be joining us from Ireland. She’s fast, she has just a great mentality inside the attacking 25. She’s a
player who will just swing at everything and do whatever it takes to score goals so we’re really excited
to add her into our forward line.”
OUTLOOK
The Scarlet Knights will once again challenge themselves with their schedule, facing 10 opponents with
finished last season ranked. The program is excited to get back to action and continue the positive
momentum going forward. The Scarlet Knights should prove to be an exciting team to watch once
again in 2019.
